Happy Valentine's Day!!

HI!

In the lovely spirit of Valentine's day, I thought I'd make something different.... I made this Heart out of old corks! Each cork was tinted naturally by the wine in which it protected. It was so much fun sorting the different colors, from burgundy to pink, as well as the crest or logos from the wineries. I selected the logos that resembled hearts in their design for an added touch.

Just for the record, I didn't drink all these bottles of wine. I have to admit, the parties at the Jones Victorian Estate are spectacular and filled with love.

So, on this special day for lovers, friends and family, I wish you all a happy Valentine's day.

Wow, It Really was Gorgeous!

Hi!

Last evening, I had the pleasure of hosting a food tasting for Ashley and Brian for their upcomming wedding in June. Her parents and brother joined us and this is what greeted them as they walked into the formal diningroom!

Ashley's guest tables will be a mix of three different centerpieces. These gorgeous silver candelabras will be one style, a mix of crystal glass will be another and a trio of mercury glass will be the last.

I had to take an up-close picture of this centerpiece because it was so massive! Not only was it beautiful, but its fragrance was intoxicating! The mix of greens, whites and ivories was just what Ashley had envisioned. Actually, I don't think she thought it would be this gigantic! I didn't!!!

Strawberry Cake?

I'm starting the month of February off with a truly delightful blog!

Strawberry cake!

Seriously, Strawberry cake!!

If you love pink, or love strawberries, or love cake, or love them all, this is the cake for you!

It's amazing!

I would have never ordered strawberry cake in fear of it being a "box"recipe or having a metallic taste. But I have to tell you, this Strawberry cake at ABC Cakes is out of this world!!!

It's now one of my favorites! I have cake tasting tomorrow and we are going to have so much fun.

From Inspiration to Finding Originality to Final Design....

Hi!

Today, I had fun just exploring my attic! With my faithful dog, Cricket, at my side, we had a blast thinking about items in new ways.

Let me explain. I worked with Brandi this week and we had so much fun working out her design. I'm not sure if I showed her the photo below or if she showed it to me first, all I know is that we both loved this!

So, as I was rumaging through all the supplies, I kept thinking of this lovely photo.

I came across this old step ladder. Now, at first glance, you might be saying it's just a step ladder. Yes and No. It's a great accent piece! With a little imagination and a few props.....

I transformed this old step ladder into a whisical design that is unique and original. I added some old
lace dollies, vintage crystal glasses and vases and topped them with flowers! Waalaa! A new twist to an original inspiration. I sent Brandi the first and second photo through my phone and we both agreed that we just loved it.

This is how I spent part of my Sunday; creating and enjoying every minute of it.

Chandelier for the Gazebo!

Welcome our new/old Chandelier! I am so excited because this precious element may be used in all sorts of ways! For example; in the gazebo where the cake is displayed!, incorporate it in the Arch for the Ceremony!, strung in the front courtyard above the Sweetheart table!

Bold and Beautiful

Hi!

I met with Kallie and Nick this weekend to begin their wedding design/planning and a funny thing happened.

We were tasting cake and deciding on the design. Kallie mentioned that she had purchased all sorts of items that were rich in color but didn't think it would go with her vintage theme. She showed me this beautiful ribbon design that she loved. I asked if she could come back and bring all her accent pieces so I could have a look!

This is what she brought!! Bright and beautiful, fun and playful and she loved it all. So did I!

We started talking and putting together different elements. This one needs paint, this one we can sew together, this teamed with this one is perfect, this one for a "welcome sign" and in an instant, we had her theme design and she loved it.

I want to address her first concern; she was worried that all her items didn't have a vintage feel. In the pre-Victorian era, before Queen Victoria wore white to her wedding, all the Brides wore rich color; burgundy, chartreuse, green, purple and so on.

The elements that Kallie brought this weekend, all have that vintage feel; Bird Houses, fabric place mats, and floral cones.

Your vintage theme can be anything you want it to be. Bringing all your elements together in a cohesive manner is the key. If you find something you love, find a special place for it!

You might have to paint it or team it with something else, but don't rule it out.

Yellow and Black! Wow!!

Hi!

How funny another yellow posting! But, take a look... the black and yellow are breathtakingly refreshing!!

This is Joe and Stacy Brown's Wedding and Reception. Congratulations you two on your Wedding and new family!!

This is our black floral organza overlays! Teamed with bright yellow flowers, black candelabras and presto, you have a winner!

Thank you Flower Allie for this stunning bouquet with ribbon and jeweled stems.

Here is Stacy getting ready in the Bride's room! It's your room for those last minute touches!

Black and yellow abound! I found our old black striped Hat Box for the Cards, a black photo of a chandelier, the invitation mounted for the guests to sign, the black scrolled candle and holder, the black book stand and a birdie candelabra all made this table worth stopping at.

Calla Lilly! They make such perfect boutonnieres! Here's a shot of one of our black candelabras on the table! Stacy and I scoured the thrift and antique stores and antique flea markets to find the candelabras! I wonder what color they will be next?

In August it's normally really warm! We provide the free standing umbrellas to offer the most comfort for our guests.

Ah, the Sweetheart table. We used the white candelabra for the Bride and Groom's table. It's complete with a large box of Kleenex!

The Ceremony with Shepherd hook decoration! I love those chiavari chairs!

The girls were a blast! Each of them had a black accent in their hair depending on their own style. Lovely!

The men. What can I say? They are all just tooooo cool!

Floral Appointments!

Hi!

Wednesday, Brian, Ashley and her Mother all met me at the Flower Allie for our floral appointment and did we have a ball! Now, I can't tell and show you EVERYTHING that we did because it has to be a surprise!

What I can say is; it's going to be very elegant with a sophisticated shimmer!!

Brian, the Groom, came to the floral appointment! I loved having him with us and his input was so valuable. Besides, he handled us so well. hehehe

Just Because!

Just Because? Yep, just because these pictures are so bright, cheerful and fun, I wanted to post these photos! Michael of MemoriesbyMichael.com sent over these and a lot more and I just can't seem to get enough of them. They are so much fun and since it's January, I thought it would be a great pick-me up (especially if you live on the east coast)!

Shanntel choice yellow as her accent color and it worked beautifully!! Here are the Bridesmaid's Bouquets! This is my favorite back drop for the bouquets!

Is this just awesome!! Thank you so much Michael!! Do you see the jewels in her bouquet? How about just the slightest hint of yellow? Thank you Flower Allie!!

Here's Aaron!!

i just love that we added bows to the centerpieces. It was styled after Shanntel's gown!

The Flower Girl was a true star and she loved my Ice cream bars!

The Arch was a lovely back drop for their wedding. The bows were included!!

I said he could DANCE! Here's Aaron when he was introduced! Check out those pointed toes!!! Remember Tom Cruise?

Opps, someone forgot to crop! I still love it!

Shanntel preferred the old fashioned chair covers with organza ties. They are soft and just the right accent!

Like I said, they are incredible dancers. Aaron and Shanntel ordered a black and white checkered dance floor! And....

Here they go with their own choreographed dance with all sorts of special features!! They brought the house down!!

It's time for a different cake eating photo!

The money dance was next and she's all ready to go! Did you notice the vintage quilt that we used for the cake table?

Ahhh, the rose petal exit! The amazing finale to an amazing day!

What Makes a Style Work?

Hi!

What makes a style work? It's easy!

It's incorporating something that you love. It's tying the elements together beautifully from the Wedding to the Reception. It's about enjoying the process!
Let me give you an example! This is Denise and Jeff's wedding. Their theme was all about bringing out the "green" in nature and surrounding themselves with that natural essence.

Here's Denise was her bouquet with just a touch of green in her bouquet! Thank you Flower Allie! They are both absolutely gorgeous!

Her green accents didn't stop there! Her spectacular bracelet included green as did her Maid of Honor's dress!

We didn't stop there! Here's the cake displayed on a real stump! Fresh fruit and flowers decorated the old fashioned frosting! Denise added a playful backdrop with multi-colored streamers. I tucked them under the base of the overhead light to create a ceiling of streamers as well.

We have lots and lots of old beautiful trees at the Estate so finding one that she liked was easy!

The Bride and Groom's chairs had just the right touch!

Even the front door of the Estate was decorated with the Green element!!

Here's Denise's son and the Ring Bearer! He didn't carry the traditional ring pillow! He carried a bird's nest with the rings inside! Did you see his boutonniere? Nice! Thank you Flower Allie!

And the Centerpieces!! These were a blast to put together! We started with the burlap overlays and added a tree stump with moss and cute little features such as mini mushrooms and snails! All hand made! Then, we added clear, green and amber wine bottles. I saved the bottles from my past weddings and scrubbed the labels off! Waaalaa! Perfect for candles! Next, Amber votive candle holders, wooden "wafer" table numbers, an assortment of green vases filled with fresh cut greens and the seed pods finished the look!

Guess what we did for the napkin?

We used brown linen napkins tied with twine and stuffed with fresh rosemary! Now, that is a GREEN look that is elegant and diversified... smells good too.

Green was the accent of the day and the bouquets beamed with it! Jeff's daughters and the Maid of Honor carried these gorgeous bouquets made by Flower Allie! Each of their dresses were different, all based on their own style!

The Guest Book Table was a feast for the eyes with a photo of the couple, the seating board, a plant box with a Kumquat tree (The tree was to young to bare fruit so we added tied real kumquats to the tree for color and texture!), her hand made invitation, woodsy pens in a "dirt" bowl made of whole grain rice, candles, tree stumps with mini mushrooms and tied it all together with a burlap table runner!

This was Denise and Jeff's seating board. The cork board was covered with burlap. They created a framework by the use of branches! Their push pins had rocks glued to the top. The cards were hand crafted by Denise out of wood!

Their arch was a mix of branches! That's right, just branches. Actually, that's not completely true. We tucked in the branches a couple of bird's nests with blue eggs! It was her "something" Blue!!

The invitation! It's a sneak preview of what's to come! Here, Denise made the template for these wooden invitations. She did an amazing job with the artistry! Now, if you received this invitation, would you wonder what the wedding was going to be about?

Chinese Lanterns to Jazz it up!

Hi!

I was cleaning out my office/fun zone and I just couldn't resist playing with all the Chinese Lanterns! Seriously, they add color and texture and just plain ole fun to any event. Since we have the old fashioned lighting over the dance floor, what better way to accent them than with a colorful lantern!

We used yellow, green and white lanterns that were just perfect for Rachell's wedding. It was fun and when the sun set, the colors glowed with color!

Guess What? For those of you that think colorful lanterns are to much and/or they don't really fit your style... how about eyelet lace lanterns!
Oh yeah! Hey, it was a beautiful day and I just love these lanterns.

It's wedding planning season and I'm already having a ball!!

Chairs For The Bride and Groom's Special Seating.

Hi!

I think there should be extra thought in what type of chairs you, the Bride and Groom, will sit on! Here at the Jones Victorian Estate, there is always special seating and decoration for my Bride and Grooms.

Whether your Wedding includes resin or plastic chairs, Chiavari Chairs, White Woods or anything else, add a special touch for the two of you and make your seating special!

We have these gorgeous velvet chairs; Gold, Blue and Red.

Here's the red velvet chair I was sitting on. It's perfect for the men in our lives and so regal!!

This is beautiful Denise sitting on our lovely Victorian coach! Photograph by MemoriesbyMichael.com! I love the soft lighting coming in through the lace curtains behind her.

We added extra fun to these chairs by accenting them with mocha silk organza tied together with soft ivory ribbon! The "Mr" and "Mrs" floral filled tins finished these precious chairs.

We added ivory floral satin chair covers (also below) with

bows on the sides for Katie and Chris' Wedding Reception. Thank you Jeray and Kim Photography!

These chair covers matched their linens for an over-the-top look!

Here's something different and original!! We used our vintage aprons for a delicate accessory to the white wooden chairs.

It was a perfect accent for the Bride that loves to cook and a Groom, who loves to eat!

I hope you will consider what you are sitting on at your wedding reception. It's easy and fun. Take the time to check with your parents or grandparents for any special chairs that they might have on hand.

If not, we have a variety to choose from.

Be Original... How about a Vintage Schwinn Bicycle?

Hi!

I was rummaging around in the Estate's garage and look what I found?! A woman's 1963 White (with pink lettering and accents) Schwinn Bicycle! When I saw it, I thought... "What a perfect piece for accenting one of my weddings and/or for a great photo opportunity for the Bride! It's all original and so dog-gone cute!!

I added a floral basket and waalaa! It's just perfect!

After taking the first photo, I found a men's blue bicycle too! It's just perfect for the Groom! There's a basket for drinks and snacks. Where's the beer?

It's the Little Things That Matter!

Hi!

I always say it's the little things that matter. Right? Do you agree?

It's someone you don't know that holds the door open for you! It's having plenty of ice for your Iced Tea. It's finding that extra change in the bottom of your purse for that parking meter. It's finding the last cookie in the cookie jar. It's taking the time to say hi even when you are running late. It's receiving a hug for just being you.

Have you ever thought of sugar cubes? Funny question to be sure. I have because it's the little things that matter. I love adding a colorful sugar cube to my tea or coffee. It's the little expression of love that is so endearing!

Here at the Jones Victorian Estate, you and your guests will be treated with decorated sugar cubes for your coffee or tea! It is my wish to treat you like the royalty that you are!

Here's one of our vintage tea cups ready for the hot cup of tea! (I don't use four cubes in my cup, but they are so cute I wanted a variety to choose from!)

I thought it would be fun to personalize the cubes with initials of the Bride and Groom!! Hey, we can do anything!! It's all about having fun!!

Cakes... in new ways!!

Hi!

I am so excited to share this blog with you! This new year brings wonderful changes to the Jones Victorian Estate. We have teamed up with ABC Cakes and it's a blast already!!

They bring with them delicious and wonderful options for cake flavors and fillings (giving us an assortment of three cake flavors and fillings instead of two!!) as well as beautiful and personal designs but also creative and yummy additions! Here are just a few!!

These cute mini cakes could be an addition to your traditional cake or a shower dessert or even a gift favor! These mini cakes are sure to be a huge hit however they are displayed. They are tasty and you choose the cake flavor, filling as well as the icing! These little morsels remind me of the "Ding-dong" but so much fresher and colorful!!

The Push Pop cakes were a show stopper for me to be sure! I thought they'd be a perfect "thank you" for any Ring Bearer and/or Flower Girl (s) at a wedding. It would be a extra special way of making them feel appreciated! What kid (or adult for that matter) would turn down these pops!

Are you thinking of a cake topper and just not sure what to do? Well, these delicious chocolate Bride and Grooms would be perfect. You could have your topper and eat it too!!! That's not all! They would be a wonderful gift favor or a delightful suppliment to your candy station!!!

From My Heart to Yours!

I have loved hearts for so long, I really don't remember when I wasn't fascinated by them. Since this year of 2011 is quickly coming to an end, I thought I'd post a little love... from my heart to yours. After all, I think we all need a little bit more love.

Katie and Teddy, 9/10/11! I love you!

Erica and Charles' pie! In addition to the cake, pies and croquembouche was the order of the day! I love you!

When one of our trees crushed our swing and white picket fence, I took the opportunity to show more love! This is our new gate to the grassy area with a heart! I love it!

Kristen and David's Hallowedding with an appropriate black heart! I love you!

A heart was made of rose petals in the grassy area for one of our weddings! As the guests arrived, it was one of the first details they saw and it warmed their heart! I just loved it!

Laura and Matt chose heart-belled table card holders for their guests. We rang those bells for more kisses and love! I love you!

This holiday season, I enjoyed the art of decorating sugar cubes! My first design was a puffed pink heart! The second design was a puffed red heart. The third design was a flower! hehehe I bet you thought I'd make another heart! It's a gorgeous presentation and a beautiful gift that I love giving! I love it!

I was looking for art projects and ran across this wine cork heart! Being a heart enthusiast, I quickly copied the picture. Since I have tons of corks from the last couple of weddings, guess what? Yes, I'm going to make one! I think it would be perfect at the bar!

I love it!

Daniel and Jinnie found this beautiful cake topper! I loved it because the couple is surrounded by a heart! Who knew! I love you!

Sarah and Greg (mfg) added our incredibly, beautiful beveled and etched glass piece to their arch decoration. At the center of the piece is a heart. It's flanked by hearts on each side, presenting their two lives becoming one! I love you!

I found this website yesterday for vintage labels that I just had to share! And guess what? They are FREE and printable!! The designs are so adorable!!

They are perfect for Christmas Tags, Labels for Homemade Jelly or Jam, tags for Wedding gift favors AND I thought they'd be perfect for seating cards for any Wedding Reception! Forget the "Made in China" tags and make your own. It's easy, just pick and print!
Pretty fun, huh? I love these!!

These labels add so much charm and decoration! I used one of the labels for my "Soothing Bath Wafers" Jar. I then reduced the size of the artwork and created a tag. This tag includes the recipients name and instructions for the wafers!

Each Bridesmaid received a gift bag from the Bride. In each bag, they found a black vintage clutch purse with the vintage necklace inside!! Brilliant!!

Erica was looking for something delicate to go with her Organza Wedding Gown. Kymmie made the
pearl earrings, necklace and bracelet - all from vintage settings!! She also made the jewelry for the Bridesmaids; pink drop earrings and bracelets!!

Here I am with my vintage pink tourmaline necklace! I created the necklace by flipping one into the other! It can be longer or shorter, it was so much fun! - no clasps or hooks! It was just the perfect vintage accent I wanted for my gown! Thank you Kymmie!!

The Cake Topper and an Event Stopper!

Hi!

I just love the cake tasting and cake designing portion of the planning. Seriously, who doesn't like dessert?

There are lots of options; what flavors and colors, whether to use lace or ribbon, flowers or a cake topper, is it going to be a three layered or a huge tower of icing magic?

I thought this posting will help you see a few of the options we have enjoyed at the Jones Victorian Estate.

Hillary Murphy went with an icing-less cake with a vintage cake topper! Her entire wedding had that
wonderful homespun feeling utilizing all her vintage inventory!Her mother made the cake top in their likeness. Sara Hamilton chose a Fire Fighting topper just like her new husband! It reflected her fun loving personality!

Amber Willson decided she wanted a silver Monograms for her towering masterpiece. The clean lines of the initials were the perfect finish for their cake.

Summer McMasters wanted a delicate and loving accent that reflected their style for the cake topper. She found this wonderful find at an antique store in downtown Orange! Absolutely lovely.

Jinnie Liu, a fashion designer, incorporated all of her design elements into her cake! She found this lovely heart shaped Llardo for the finishing touch.

Kristen Cushman broke all rules and standards and just had plain ole fun!! Her hallowedding was full of skeletons, black crows and cats, spiders and ghosts! What do you think she wanted for her cake? A spooky themed cake with "Love never dies" skeleton cake topper! It was a fantastic wedding full of lots of fun and love!! It was definitely an event stopper!!!

Denise Magstadt added a cake stand to the bottom layer and flowers with fruit on top of the top layer and bottom layer. The colors were striking and went with her ruffled streamers! Who thought flowers, fruit and streamers would work so well together?

Megan Krueger had a blast finding her fishing themed cake topper! An avid fisherman, Andy enjoyed her enthusiasm to his sport.

This vintage cake topper from the 1940's is a wonderful keepsake! I love the detail and simply artistry.

Jelly Is Not Just For Your Toast!!

Hi, Happy Holidays!

Today, while I was making Pomegranate Jelly for family and friends this holiday season, I remembered a gentleman named Michael at one of the weddings this year. Just thinking about him had me smile and I thought this would be a fun post.

I was running around during a wedding earlier this year trying to locate all the members of the Bridal party for the introductions. An elderly gentleman came up to me and said, "What's going on? Who are you looking for?"

"The Bridal party," I said, "I getting ready for the toast!"

"Ahhh," he replied with a youthful grin and said, "I'll have mine with jelly!"

I stopped right then and there and had a good laugh! I hugged him and told him I was going to write about him on my blog. He said his name was Michael, the uncle of the Bride, from Oregon. True to my word, this is Michael's story. A wonderful man who made me laugh and smile all night long. So... Thank you Michael, this blog posting is dedicated to you, my new friend and jelly enthusiast!!

So, I was thinking... what about Jelly??!!

It's a great gift favor idea and one that everyone loves. Besides, what is peanut butter without Jelly,

or as Michael said; Toast with Jelly?

I have had two Brides in the recent past that have taken advantage of this special fruity treat to the amazement of their guests. It takes time to make it but anything this great does!

Here, my Bride Kristen, her sister and Mother made Strawberry and Raspberry Jams as a special treat to their guests. We displayed the jars on a separate table with a lovely sign that read, "Spread the Love." The guests selected their jar of jam as they exited the property as a special thank you from the Bride and Groom.

Another Bride, Katie Schmidt-Dyer made Jalapeno Jelly, her colors were purple and green, as their gift favor. They were delightfully decorated and placed at each place setting. The rich, emerald green color sparkled in the sun light and added a homespun feeling to the tables.

Are you thinking about Gift Favors? Give them something they'll love... Jelly is a great idea.

Vintage Quilts to warm your heart and body!!

Hi!

We all want the Wedding days to be just perfect! From the decorations, to the food, to the cake, to the music and most importantly, the weather ... it's what I pray for!

Sometimes the weather can be chilly but there's no need to worry!!

It's the perfect time to add a little fun!

Here at the Estate, along with the space heaters, we bring out our vintage quilts and lap quilts. They warm your body while warming your heart!

Tied in a bow, they are a wonderful treat for anyone, young or old!

Vintage quilts have so many different uses that can add a lovely, warm charm to your decoration!

The Quilts can add a beautiful, stylish accent to your ceremony!
Hang them and they become a colorful backdrop for your seating cards and/or photography too!!

The Flower Girls and Ring Bearers can sit on them during your wedding! Add little bags of goodies on your quilt for a special treat and it will help entertain them!!

The Quilts add color and texture to your guest tables or to your special head table!

Katie added her quilt to the cake and cupcake dessert table for a colorful W O W effect!

That's not all Katie used her quilts for... she made a sign that greeted the guests upon their arrival, a sign for the ceremony site, signs that indicated Ladies and Gentleman's rooms and the party sign!

As you can see, the quilts are so versatile and perfect for a lovely detail! In fact, I'm going to use one right now as I finish this post!! It's cold outside!!

Engagement Shoot for Brandi and Josh!!!

Hi!

Yesterday was such a gorgeous day and we took advantage of our good luck by having Brandi and Josh take their engagement pictures. There are so many reasons to take your engagement pictures at the Jones Victorian Estate, here are just a few!!

1) Your photographer gets the "lay of the land" so to speak. He's able to check out all the different
locations that he can't possibly get during the wedding and reception.
2) You and your finance have the Bride's room and Groom's room for your change of outfits!
3) You and your photographer get to know each other better at the same location of your wedding!
(He can't get lost or be late!)

4) As a couple, the more you visit the Estate, the more at home you'll feel!

Here, Brandi was in a white lace dress accented with Red boots and belt and Josh in his red plaid shirt!! Perfect for the rustic shots! Wait until you see her sequined dress and Josh in his tie at the sunset shots!!

Brandi and Josh had pictures out in the "meadow", up on the hill over looking the city and in the palm farm where the trees line up like sentries. They walked all over and climbed - Brandi in heels!! I was able to see a couple of quick pictures from their photographer and they are INCREDIBLE!! Here's what I took it with my camera phone!!! Geez! I can hardly wait to post the "REAL" ones!!

The Picture of Your Gown!

Hi!

There are so many locations for those special photos of you and your Groom, here at the Jones Victorian Estate.

There's one detail that is fun that I don't want you to forget. So please, add this to your photographers list of "must haves!"

Photographs of your Gown!!

Talk with your photographer and see what she or he has in mind. Remember, you also need a special hanger. Padded Satin hangers are my favorite!

It's all in the presentation and this simple, little detail will matter later.

I thought you'd like to see where some of the photographers have hung the Gowns here!!

This Gown is hanging in our Bride's room's closet! The closet is hand painted with vintage accessories, included shoes with real jewels! This shot is one of my favorites! Well done Renee!

Here, Michael of memoriesbymichael.com hung Denise's gown on a tree in the front courtyard and added her boots in the shot! The contrast is striking!

Erika's Gown was hung from the Estate's front door! (Another one of my favorites!) We teamed the Gown with the bridal bouquets for a beautiful vintage keepsake!

Kim and Jeray took this picture with the Vienna Gates in the background. The black scroll work on the gates accented the scroll work on the gown!

Megan and Micah took this picture of Rachel's Gown from a high branch at the entrance of the property with the Vienna Gates open. Behind the Gown, the road to their future awaits!

This photograph was another one by Memeoriesbymichael.com that I love. I posted it because the gown hung in the background has such softness and adds another dimension to Denise's boots, her bridal bouquet and one of her tags (There was a special hand written quote on each tag for all the guests).

This is the same gown as above but this photograph is in color and shot from a straight on location. I still love it.

It's so much fun walking each Bride into her room on the day of the wedding. Here at the Estate, we allow the Brides to bring their gown (sometimes I pick it up!), their accessories, gift favors, toasting glasses and etc, the week of the wedding rather than the day of the wedding. In that way, when she arrives everything is here and organized for her! The expression of seeing her gown hanging in the closet ready for her day is priceless! It's those moments that set the stage for the rest of the afternoon!

What's Vintage?

Hi!

What's vintage to you?

Vintage is all about the special touches that makes your event truly amazing. Those unique touches don't have to be expensive or large like a table but may be simple and elegant. Take vintage silverware, Theodore Haviland china and assorted vintage floral tea cups and saucers for example. They are simple decorative pieces but have a big POW effect.

Here, the beautiful gracefulness of the Haviland china teamed with the silver fork (with "Bride") adds the feel of yesteryear while creating a special elegance just for you.

The Haviland plates were added to the walls of the Gazebo! We began with two plates and then loved it so much, we added different sizes and lots more!! You may use any china or plates that you find or ones that Grandma has!!!

The cake added to the vintage feel with an ivory base with white frosting flowers. The cake topper was a mini tea cup just perfect for top layer size. We finished the table with a crystal cake stand, moss green satin floor length linen with a delicate floral organza overlay.

Pictured here, the tea cup and saucer with the floral arrangement completed this vintage look to our Gazebo's windows. Each windowsill had a different tea cup but all had the same lovely color scheme.

Other items may be easily added such as picture frames, canisters, old hats and tea pots to create a look that is special to you. Remember, the items way be used in different ways! How? Turn the tea cups on their side or upside down, add candles to them or in them. We recently used a mini tea pot for the flower girl! Katie glued it to a decorated pole and whaaalaa! A gorgeous
flower girl accent!! (I'll post the photo soon! I just received the link from the Photographer!)

We can all do our part this holiday season by buying American!! The news reported that we'll be spending close to 3 BILLION dollars this Christmas! So, I thought it would be fun giving another idea to your gift giving....

Picnic Baskets are definitely VINTAGE and fun!

HI!

When I look at my collection of picnic baskets, they just make me feel so GOOD. I picture a green meadow with a soft breeze, a colorful, comfy quilt to sit on and the basket filled with goodies! I imagine this wonderful quiet and peaceful place to spend enjoying a special meal. It's these times that we so desperately need in our busy everyday life.

You can have this same wonderful feeling incorporated into your wedding by simply displaying them or including these special baskets (or ones like it!) in your overall design.

How about at the guest book table? They can be stacked and a cute sign (I used a chalk board!) could be displayed on top. Flowers and photographs could be added to the open baskets to create a lovely vignette of wonderful family treasures. If you don't have any, don't worry! An engagement or funny photograph will also do the trick.

These playful picnic baskets may be used for the safety of the card gifts or hold special accessories at the bar, such as colorful straws, napkins and licorice!

How about a basket as your cake stand! I used vintage canisters in exchange for a cake!! hehe

The ideas are limitless! Have fun with any vintage item and use them in new and different ways!

Hillary just let me know that her photos were choosen for the stylemepretty blog! We had a blast planning her wedding with all her special vintage touches. I added old buttons to ribbons and other special touches, her Dad made a wonderful moon-stool for the backdrop of the photos, her Mom made the beautiful cake topper and Hillary's vision all came together!

The Guest Book Table: A table to have fun with!

Hi!

I love the extra details that go into the guest book table. It's the table where the guests have an opportunity not only sign your book but also to drop off their gifts and find their seating. With just a little bit of thought, your guest book table can be welcoming and beautiful while being practicle at the same time.

Here, we found a picket fence that Kristen wanted to use to display her guest seating cards. It was perfect because it mirrored the details on her overall Hallowedding theme! (Did you see the picket fence on the cake?) At the time, we hadn't figured out what size or what the cards would look like. The wheels started turning once we found this fencing and the family helped bring it to fruition.

What a difference it makes when all the details come together. We started with a burlap overlay, added a Mr and Mrs. Pumpkin couple, a couple of claw votive candle holders, an old trunk for card gifts, different sized pumpkins, a bird cage with a crow (what else!), a beautiful "Guest Book" sign and the leather bound guest book and the vision becomes a reality.

Here, we played at Shinoda's design center with the different elements that Kristen found. It gave us a perfect start and the picture preserved our vision.

A Cake with Spooky Style!

Hi!

This cake was a spooky accent that was just so intricate! The picket fence, the ghoulish eyes peeping out of the darkened windows, the ghosts, the goblins, the bats and the grave stones, all helped to make this Hallowedding cake perfect.

The table was draped with burlap and black organza. Underneath the linens, green twinkle lights added to the fun and spookiness of the design!

"Love Never Dies" cake topper was just the piece we needed to finish this cake.

In the gazebo, we strung spiders from spider webs and had crows looking on.

It was a Hallowedding!!!

Hi!

Our Hallowedding was an absolute blast!! Saturday included spooky decorations that mixed with costumed guests!! I had so much fun planning her wedding with her. We painted signs, picked out pumpkins, looked for unique centerpieces, created spooky table numbers, found fun accent pieces and more!

It was a special day for Kristen and David that was filled with spooky fun!

Kristen found skeleton stockings and I painted a skeleton heart for the ceremony!

The ladies all wore something different. They were beautiful! The flower girls created their own fairy costume and carried lanterns with fire flies inside!

The men looked regal in the vests along with the Ring Bearer. He carried a coffin that read, "'Till Death Do Us Part!"

Kristen carried a colorful bouquet that included succulents!

Her shoes, her jewelry and her head piece all worked to create a stunning finish!

Here's our Welcome sign at the entrance to the property along with the Ring Bearer and Flower girls
walking down the aisle.

The ceremony was accented by Chinese lanterns and black chairs! There was no arch that day but instead we created a curlie willow back drop with flowers and pumpkins. Twinkle lights were added and the look was complete!

Even the table numbers had a creepy feel. Tables were draped with burlap and black napkins were accented by a hang-man's noose and autumn leaves.

Even our D.J., Jon Muir, was dressed up and joined the fun! Check out Kristen's votive candle holders!!

The Father of the Bride gave his toast in the Doctor from "Back to the Future." He did wear a tuxedo during the ceremony but changed to join the party!

Here, Kristen and David hold up a gift from one of the flower girls... mini coffins.

Alyssia was more comfortable giving her toast with her bird costume. She even added yellow contact lenses!

A walk down the back road was a perfect backdrop for the Couple... woodsy and old!

In April, Kathleen and David will have their two dogs in their wedding. The ring bearer Ethan and the flower girl Paige will be escorting their companions; Wallie and Candy, respectfully.

Here is Cricket! My new addition to my family. She picked me at the German Sheppard rescue and she's been by my side ever since.

Hallowedding! Booooo

Hi!
This week we are in preparation for Kristen and David's Hallowedding! That's right. They have embraced their day, October 29th, and are having so much fun!! Check out our inspirations!!!

We are bringing in lots of pumpkins and add a bit of the "boo" factor!

There will be dining and dancing all under the light of the Moon!!

We found all sorts of vases, in different colors, textures and heights! We are even adding black candelabras.

The fence will hold all the guest's seating tags! Mom is the artist and I can hardly wait!!!

Mandy and David's shot glass favor and seating!!

Hi!

I just received a couple of photos from Brandi of Brandibarrphotography.com and I'm so excited to share them with you!!

Here is their spectacular and colorful guestbook/gift table with the shot glasses!!! Since the Bride and Groom met at a local fun bar, they thought it would be a hoot if they used the shot glasses as gift favors. What made them a pop was the different colored organza bags that were filled with jelly beans!!!

We added all sorts of family photos, green bottles with flowers and our green picnic basket for the gift cards and waalaa! You couldn't help but smile at all the fun it created!!!

For their seating, the cards that were tucked into the glasses were set up alphabetically! Not only was it an amazing display of color, they were yummy and beautifully practical!!

Here's Mandy! I love all the color!! Do you notice the vintage broach on the stems? Don't forget those personal touches!!!

And here they are.... the M E N!!! It's fun to be so cool! Thanks guys!!!!

The ladies used the drive as the backdrop for their photo! Who can't use another Black Dress? Those flowers really pop!!

The wedding amongst a trellis of greens and flowers...just what the Bride ordered! Congratulations Mandy and David!

This is my favorite time of day. It's when the Bride and Groom sneak away for just a couple of private
moments. It really helps to slow the day down so they can enjoy it all the more!!!

One of the wonderful aspects of the Jones Victorian Estate is that I'm already included.

There is no need to look any farther!

Who am I? I am Michelle Gregory. I have been coordinating Weddings for over 20 years! One of the best features of the Jones Victorian Estate is that I only have one event per day!
What does that mean to you? It means personalized service from the beginning to the end.

If you hired someone for just the day of your wedding, the cost starts at about $1,200.00. Really! But more importantly, why would you want them only on the day of your event?

I am there with you throughout the planning stages. We work together to create your day and have fun!

How will your Wedding Arch be decorated?

Hi!

As one Wedding season wraps up and another one begins, there are so many special touches that made each Wedding amazing!

Here, are just a few of the decorated Arches that I thought you might enjoy and that might give you the courage to do what you want!!

Denise and Jeff wanted a warm, earthy Arch. We created this by using all sorts of branches and tucking in real bird nests. We hung paper flowers from the lights above.

Candice and Travis' Arch was a mix of flowers, lemons and limes along with different sizes of Chinese Lanterns and jewels. A beautiful display of color and textures!

Greg and Sarah add a beveled glass focal point to their Arch. It was a tribute to Sarah's late Grandfather and provided an elegant and rich accent to their Arch.

Erica and Charles wanted to incorporate their polka dot theme into their Arch. We covered Styrofoam balls, added curly Willow and flowers and presto! The Arch was light and colorful!

Katie's Arch was a delectable mix of flowers, grape vine wreath and fresh greenery!

Amber and Brandon's Arch was a beautiful combination of flowers, greens and grapevine! The floral points were accented by singular blooms that made the backdrop look fresh and natural!

Anne and Bill's Arch was completely covered with flowers!! This decoration had very little greens and no wooden vines! It was a spectacular backdrop!

Kelly and Joey went for something completely different. We created this backdrop from her vintage theme. The frames were hung and then the canning jars were filled with flowers. It was fun and playful and very uniquely vintage! Unfortunately, this is my photograph. I'm sure the professional photographer was better. As soon as I have it, I'll post it.

Artichokes and Succulents added the color and texture to this Arch. Brittany and Ryan loved the mix of textures along with the flowers. There is a bit of grape vine wreath woven underneath.

Jewels with White and Yellow... A fresh and bright theme!

Hi!

It was not only a gorgeous day, it was a spectacular wedding day!

Here, breathtaking Shanntel chose a beautiful mix of white, ivory and pale yellow flowers, a touch of jewels in the bouquet and a sparkly wrap around the stems of her bridal bouquet! It tied in perfectly with her gown, her veil and her jewerly. It was the overall theme of her day... elegance, romance and FUN!

Aron and Shanntel glowed in front of their wedding arch with their bridal party flanking each side!!

Their table centerpiece incorporated all the beautiful elements of her design while staying low enough to see the two of them!

Shanntel choose our Silver Candelobras bursting with color and vintage plates for her table numbers!!

Ahh, cake! A lovely creation fit for the occasion!

Who wants a purse for the money dance when you can wear an apron!!!

There are those special moments at a wedding that takes your breath away... this is definitely one of those!!

Hi!

It's a beautiful day at the Jones Victorian Estate! Kim and Jeray sent over a few more pictures from the photo shoot with Stacy and Joe! It was just us, no guests, no children and no staff! They had an opportunity to just enjoy the environment and each other!

Stacy's bouquet was a delightful mix of ivories and yellows with a few jewels thrown in for good measure!

"There's no place like the Jones, there's no place like the Jones" they murmured, as

they were surrounded by the breathtakingly gorgeous, wild mustard plants.

Somehow I loaded these backwards.... Here's our famous rose petals exit!!! The end has to be a joyous affair to match the day. Don't forget this detail!

They danced under the lights and had a ball. We added colorful Chinese lanterns for an added accent.

Here, we had a group shot! A perfect choice for their album!! Squeeze in everyone and look here!!!

Erika and Michael took private moment on the back bridge with the waterfall flowing underneath!

Is this the cutest picture EVER? I love, love, love it!! They were just announced and we were all cheering and clapping in celebration.

Fishing at the Jones Victorian Estate

Hi!

Andy and Megan were married this weekend with a new and fun twist! Megan surprised Andy by adding a fishing theme to her wedding planning. The special touches were noticed by all and especially by Andy! He loved it!

Check them out below.

The Bride's grandfather brought a fishing pole that we sat on a rock next to the lagoon. It was the perfect prop for the day! It was her grandfather that made all the fish out of wood. Megan, her mother and Maid of Honor painted them and we anquored them down with one pound weights on fishing line. The fish looked like they were swimming in the current of the falls!

Look at all the fish! Green fish, blue fish, yellow fish, grey fish!! There were eighteen fish in all including bottom dwellers and sharks that swam that day!!

Megan and her Mother, Julie, found this great fish vase for the candy station! They included the candy fish and with the rest of the treats!! What a great find!

For more fun, Megan found a fishing Bride catching a Groom for her cake topper!

Their special touches reflected their love of the outdoors. And, where else to express that than the Jones Victorian Estate!

Megan was mindful at keeping the elegance of her wedding while including their personality and it worked perfectly.

I can hardly wait for the pictures from the photographer!

I have received many phone calls and emails about our size. I thought I'd post these pictures to give the reader a general idea, especially if they have never been here.

A special thank you to Joel at EMP Studios and MicahandMeganPhotographers for the photographs!!

Here, the ceremony site with the waterfalls flowing. We even have another site in the garden area as well. We can seat up to 200.

In the front courtyard, we can seat 200 there too! If it's hot, we have table umbrellas. If it's

cold, we have heaters. We try to think of everything!

Here, Courtney and Michael had a black/green theme. What is your dream?

Green never looked so good!! Are those wine bottles?

Hi!

I just love this table!! The mixture of green bottles, assorted green vases with a pop of burgundy is amazing!

Check out the quilt as the overlay! The wine cellar as the back drop, it's to shabby either!!!

We used a burgundy napkin and accented it with wired corks! A gold bead on the top and presto!

Rich burgundies and reds made this green container pop!! If you can use a variety of textures, each vase will have a character of their own!

Wine bottles added just the right touch. We added slender candles to the wine bottles as the sun set! Let's talk about romance without hurting the budget!!

Large vases, small vases, tall or short, they all worked with this incredible design.

A big shout out to Alison of Flower Allie of Fullerton for your amazing flower design. Thank you for seeing my vision. A big shout out to Joel of EMP Studios for the stunning photographs!

Polka Dots and Stripes with a touch of pink peonies!

Hi!

Did you ever think about incorporating polka dots with stripes? Did you ever think about adding vintage, colorful canisters to the polka dot and stripes? Did you every think of colorful canisters with polka dot and stripes and buttons? Did you ever think about tying it all together with a touch of pink? Erica did just that in June. It sounds over the top complicated but it was fresh and gorgeous!!

Here, top and bottom, the cocktail tables were draped with black and white polka dot satin linens. Each table had a different tin! She incorporated buttons in polka dot and stripe for fun!

It was interesting how each tin brought together its own floral design. With the help of Alison at Flower Allie, Erica's vision materialized beautifully!

Here, the dinner table linens were white with black polka dot. The white napkins included a lovely striped menu card and it was all tied with a striped bow and wrap finish!

The tins were filled with pink and white peonies. Some tins also had pink depression glass to lighten the arrangement.

Erica loves detail as much as I do. Think about it! The smallest details, such as buttons, can be fun and creative and add a special touch that is unique to you! Be Bold! No Fear!! You'll enjoy it!

Flower girls, flower girls, they are just to cute!

Hi!

Are you thinking of adding a flower girl and/or ring bearer to your wedding party? Are you thinking maybe two, or maybe three, or even four, what about five?

Erica and Charles did just that! They had five beautiful little flower girls ranging from the age of 2 years old to 8 years old. We didn't think the 2 year old would make it but just having her in the wedding was magical.

Erica decided to do something different then a mini bouquet or a flower petal basket for her little girls. She came up with these "floral wands" idea and they were a huge hit!!

She started with a wooden dowel that she covered with ribbon. She twisted and wrapped the green stem of a silk peony around the ribboned dowel. She then hot glued more peonies to the top. Underneath the flowers, she added white polka dot organza ribbon bows along with a pink satin edged ribbon bows. Black and white stripe ribbon in long lengths were glued with pink polka dot ribbon and a tiny pink satin ribbon. Each dangling ribbon was a different length. We spray painted a galvanized tin bucket white and added ribbon and a button on top for decoration. It was a perfect choice to hold all the wands!!!

Erica loved baby's breath wreaths for the flower girls and they looked adorable.

Here she goes, she getting ready for pictures!!

It was wonderful to see the girls get along so well. As it turned out, the two 8 year old girls paired up and the two 6 year old girls paired up! Walking down the aisle with your new friend turned out to be perfect. We add animal crackers to the vintage quilt that they sat on and everyone had a great time.

Here's Erica with the first two flower girls, Kendal and Katalin. The others joined the group shortly there after.

You just got engaged!! What's next?

Congratulations, you just got engaged!!! Wow, how did he do it????

It doesn't take long at all for family and friends to ask, "What's your date? Are you planning a spring or summer wedding? Where are you getting married? What's your theme? Have you figured out your budget? How many are you going to have in your Bridal party? Who's going to be one of your Bridesmaids? What color are the bridesmaid's dresses? Dates are booking fast, when are you going to start looking? " YYYYIIIIIKKKKKKEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!

"I just got engaged, I don't know!" your thinking. The stress starts creeping in. You are already starting to get overwhelmed and you haven't even begun!

S T O P!!

You just got engaged!! Before you start anything, please take a least few weeks off and enjoy this special time. This is the time to dream together. This is the time to find out what each other wants. It's the simple things that mean the most. There is plenty of time for the planning and finding the perfect site for you! So, if you feel stressed already, stop!

If I can help, please let me know. Simplify it by thinking it's like deciding to buy a car. You both do a little research on what color, style and make and see what the budget is all about. Simplify!

"JUST MARRIED" at the Jones Victorian Estate

Hi!

After all the planning and fun, the wedding day arrives with all the expectations and excitement. There is one detail that I don't want you to forget .....your departure!!!

It's one of those details that you can delegate to a family member or friends.

No matter what automobile you two are leaving in, don't forget the "Just Married" or "Just Hitched", or "Just Begun" sign. The sign can say anything, have fun with it!

For Erica, her Maid of Honor, Rachell, made this adorable "Just Married" sign with her pink and black and white polka dot! The polka dot ribbons tied it to the Bentley for their first drive to their future!

It can be made of fabric or paper with the words stitched or printed on them. It can be the shoe polish markers for the windows or the inflated prophylactics (hehehe) and balloons strung from the door handles. It can streamers and ribbons with shoes and cans! It can be all of these! It's a celebration for your new life and don't you want to ride in style???!!!

Here at the Jones Victorian Estate, we want the departure to include all the love and fun of the day! We gather everyone for the final goodbye by showering the Bride and Groom with rose petals and one last kiss and hug.

It seems like such a silly detail but why not carry all the enjoyment to the end?!!

Erica and Charles' Wedding in the new garden area!

Hi!

Pink, black and white polka dots and stripes was the theme for the day in the new grassy area for Erica and Charles Presley at the Jones Victorian Estate!

Erica's aisle was covered in rose petals. The asile chairs were decorated with mini Peony bouquets and assorted ribbons that danced in the soft breeze. Thank you Flower Allie for all your hard work!!

Instead of having all the flower girls, (five total!) and ring bearer stand during the ceremony, we used a vintage pink quilt to sit on! We included goodies for them and they enjoyed the wedding along with the rest of us!! Gage, the little ring bearer, took a little nap and was ready to go when the ceremony ended!

Surrounded by beautiful flowers that grew in the garden, tall and shady trees the created a lovely canopy over the wedding site and the sweet songs of the birds as the background music, Erica and Charles exchanged their vows. It was the first time we used this grassy area and it was the perfect backdrop for their wedding.

We were blessed to have Pastor Mark Manning officiate because he always brings so much joy and fun to each ceremony. He had the Bride and Groom turn and look at their guests. It was the perfect opportunity to take a couple of adorable pictures of the Bride and Groom!!

A new photographer! - Colleen Bell

It was a perfect day for a spectacular yellow wedding! Here I am with the new Mr. and Mrs. Ron Bayles! Congratulations!!!

I had the pleasure of working with a new photographer named Colleen

Bell last weekend! She has been a photographer for some time but I hadn't worked with her before. There is nothing better than having a photographer "click" with us! She is a kindred spirit to be sure!!!

She captured the precious moments, the fun and was everywhere at once.

Lynne and Ron, the Bride and Groom, really enjoyed themselves.

After all, isn't that what it is all about?

"At the invitation of Lynne + Ron, I had the distinct pleasure of shooting at the Jones Victorian Estate in Orange, California last weekend for their beautiful wedding. I was excited when Lynne told that she had selected the Jones Victorian Estate for her wedding because I had heard many wonderful things about it from other photographers and vendors, so I wanted to experience it myself. Lynne and Ron are an incredible couple and it was wonderful to see them so relaxed from the moment they stepped on the property. I know Michelle, the coordinator at Jones had her hand in creating that atmosphere of calm by being so prepared. She was very hands on and personal, but she is also blessed with the gift making everyone feel like family the moment you meet her. It was very obvious that she had made the whole planning experience for Lynne and her family an enjoyable one and it all came together so beautifully. I am elated that this evening turned out so beautiful for Ron and Lynne, that Lynne enjoyed the wedding of her dreams, and most of all that she found an amazing man to cherish her for the rest of her life. It is obvious by all of the kissing images I have posted that they stole every spare moment for a kiss. I tried to capture their joy in images, but it is almost impossible to capture that spark you feel when they see each other. I wish you both the best!!"

Our new garden area is officially open! We had our first wedding there and it was soooo beautiful.

Erica and Charles were married amongst the many tall trees, the beautiful assortment of colorful flowers, the green grass of the garden!

Silver Candelabras .... oh yeah!

Hi!

Are you thinking about centerpieces? How about the grand tradition of silver candelabras?

They bring such elegance to any decoration.

Guess What? We have them! They are all silvery and shinning and beautiful!

Here, Flower Allie provided the huge floral arrangements that went on top and the strings of pearls the hung all around. The candelabras were further accented by beautifully framed table names in silver. Each frame included an explanation of the name. It was a beautiful way to get a glimpse into the lives of the Bride and Groom.

My favorite table was the Mother of the Bride's table; "Sunday Morning". This frame related the story of Sarah sitting at the table, one Sunday morning, talking to her mother about one day marrying Greg. Priceless! Please pass the tissues.

Here Comes The Bride!

Hi!

Here at Sarah and Greg's wedding, these two Ring Bearers were the cutest ever!! They managed to carry the sign all the way down the aisle to the utter amazement of all the guests. I rewarded them with ice creams and it was a well deserved treat!!! They are so precious! Can we hire these two? Do they have an agent yet?

And... that's not all! How about this little one that has a mini crown on!! Ahhhh.

Here, we added our stained glass piece to the floral decoration on the Arch for a magical effect. Our intention was to pay tribute to Sarah's grandfather, who had worked in the glass trade, and it was one of her favorite decorations! What a gorgeous backdrop for her wedding. The glass was further accented with strings of pearls and crystals spilling down each side of the arch.

Her joy and playfulness was so refreshing! Thank you again, Kim and Jeray, for capturing these precious moments!! The Groom, Greg (mfg), was her perfect match.

Everything was Perfect!

Hi!

I remember when I was young and I had some change to spend, a sweet treat made the day that much better.

It didn't matter if it was Bazooka chewing gum or a pocket full of Red Vines licorice, it was just plain fun.

Now you can bring that nostalgia flare to your gift favors with a Candy station. Now, some of you will say that the Candy Stations have been around for a long time. I couldn't agree more! However, you can create yours with your own flare! Besides, in all the years we have featured the Candy Stations, never have I heard anyone complain about candy!! It's always a big hit!

There are all sorts of resources for candy. Go for the candy you and your parents enjoy, go for candy that are in your colors, go for the candy necklaces, rings and bracelets! Go for what makes you smile! It's all yummy. Bring out the kid in you and your guests!

Here, we displayed Candice and Travis' candy in our vintage candy jars. Green and yellow were the colors of the day! We livened up the table up with a satin green linen. We added height to the centerpiece and waaalaaa! A self-serve Candy Station fit for a Queen!

Orange and Light Blue - Stunning !

Hi!

I just received an email from Ketara of

KetaraGPhotography.com with a few photos highlighting the event for Matt and Laura.

I love the stunning contrast of the two colors! Laura was sure of her choice, while other family members couldn't quite picture it.

She stayed true to her choice and I helped her create her vision. We brought the colors to the seating cards, the centerpieces, the bouquets and the decorations for the arch. It was breathtaking. It was just what she wanted!! It was the "sunset over the water!"

What you can't see from these pictures are Laura's beautiful, crystal blue eyes!

Hi Michelle!

I can't believe how time has flown and it has almost been a month since our wedding! I have been meaning to sit down and write to you for awhile now but it has been such a busy (and fun) couple of weeks I have just now found the time!

Everytime I think back to May 21st, I get goosebumps; it was truly the happiest day of our lives. We had so much fun at our wedding and everything was more beautiful then we could have imagined. I always thought I would be a giant ball of stress at my wedding & be worrying about every little detail, but with you there I was completely relaxed and really got to enjoy and appreciate my day. We got the preview of our pictures last week and I was in such awe of how gorgeous everything came together; I really appreciate your attention to detail and all the insight and ideas you helped with to make our day personalized and unique.

From the food, to the venue and beyond, The Jones Victorian Estate did not disappoint. What you offer is an outstanding location for any bride & groom that is unparalleled in Southern California and one of our best decisions was to get married there. You helped create a picture perfect backdrop for our "happily ever after" to begin. :-)

Thank you sooooooo much for everything! We are almost sad our wedding is over because we will miss our visits with Michelle!!! You are so amazing!!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Green and Yellow for Travis and Candice!!

Hi!

Green and Yellow were the fresh and lively colors Travis and Candice picked for their wedding and reception. And why not? It was refreshingly bold... Green with the spike of Yellow!! Look at all the details we incorporated....

How about those paper lanterns? We mixed large Chinese lanterns for overhead with various shapes and sizes of paper lanterns on the arch and throughout the property! They added just enough color to different areas of the Estate!

It was so much fun mixing textures too! Did you notice the crystals on the arch? The buttons in the pomiander balls, bouquets and centerpiece flowers? The fruit (lemons and limes - of course!) in the bases of large vases at the arch and centerpieces. All these details just added to the overall look of the day! Everywhere you looked there was a splash of color and accent!

Guess what color shoes Candice wore? You guessed it.... GREEN!

Much more than cake!!

Hi!

Erica's wedding in the Garden was spectacular thanks to Alison at Flower Allie, Kevin and Rachell at the Gregory Palm Farms! I can hardly wait to post more pictures!

Did you ever think about adding more choices to the cake cutting/dessert? We did! Erica and her sister are an incredible cooks and bakers. She decided to add a wonderful homey touch by including cup cakes, croquembouche and homemade Pies!! Two Pecan, Three Chocolate Cream (check out the two hearts on top) and Two Berry/Cherry pies were all made with love by her Sister, Rachell. No one even wanted to dance as they anticipated their choice of dessert!

Erica wore a polka dot apron to add to the fun to her pie cutting! Her and Charles enjoyed their favorite pie - Berry/Cherry for their "cake cutting."

Erica's getting married in the Garden!

Hi!

We've opened up a new area for the weddings and it's soooo pretty!

On Saturday, Erica and Charles will be the first to be married under the canopy of huge eucalyptus trees surrounded by flowers.

The grassy area is just another gorgeous aspect of the Jones Victorian Estate.

What happened to the swing? After the wedding, the swing goes back up. I don't want them missing out on any of those great swing pictures!!

I haven't seen him around the Estate lately!

We all miss him!! There is only a handful of photographers that really help make my job easier, he's one of them. He works really well under pressure. He is incredibly talented. He has a wonderful sense of humor! He is fast, fast, fast!

You should see him around the kids! Priceless!

He's one in a million! What a great, great, great, great job he does!!!

How about a Family Photo Display?

Hi!

Did you ever think about including a video montage or slide show during your wedding reception?

If that job seems to complex and technical, how about a Family Photo display? It can be as simple as a couple of photographs OR bring a whole bunch!! The frames don't have to match. The sizes can be all different!

It allows your guests a glimpse into your life! Those who knew you then love to see them again! The photographs can include your family and friends too! Mix it up because that's what makes it so interesting.

Here at the Estate, I set up a special table for those photographs so everyone could see and enjoy. We packed them safely all back up at the end of the evening!

Don't let a special moment pass you by. You were such a cute kid!!!
