The Wedding Shoes...

Hi!
Ah, the Wedding shoes! They come deliciously colorful, high and low heeled, sandals or closed toe, the options appear to be limitless.
Whatever you choose, those beautiful shoes may be comfy or a real pain.
My suggestion to all my Brides is this, "buy one for show and one for go!"
Those high heels are great for awhile, but remember, you will be in them all day. Even if your second pair is equally as high, maybe a wedge would be just the trick to keep you light on your feet with a smile on your face.
Check out a few of these Wedding shoes...
Kathleen Murphy and her pink, sparkling shoes to go with her "Country Sparkle" theme. She had a second pair!

Emily Freeman choice blue for her something blue!

Hillary Murphy went vintage and they were comfy too!
Rachell Vasquez decided on Bridal Rainbow Flip-flops for the Beach Ceremony and the Jones Victorian Estate Reception!

Kristina's shoes were orange to match her Bridesmaids and decorations!

Jill Andres wore her black stilettos that was just her style and Damon wore his Converse, that was his!

Katie and Teddy Dykier were in purple all the way!
Denise Magstead loves her cowboy boots so her wedding was no different!

Rachel's shoes were stylist while low and comfy!
Kristen Cushman had a lot of fun with her Hallowedding theme and didn't forget to include her shoes and tights!

Shelby had adorable shoes that went with her colorful and earthy wedding style. Michael Jonathon Photography teamed her cute shoes with our vegetation for a Great Shot!

All of Kari's the wedding party shoes; Bride and Bridesmaids that featured their own style!
Kari's shoes were low and beautiful and just what she wanted!

Whatever shoes you chose, remember it's a very long day! Treat yourself with a second pair, you're worth it!

Windows,Windows, Windows... Window Fever!

Hi!
Windows!! I just love them!
After Brandi had decided on using windows as a decorative accent, she got window fever! She found them in different sizes and shapes but they were all beautiful!! She bought five!
We had so much fun figuring out what to do with them! I caught her window fever and we laughed and laughed about all the creative ideas we came up with.

The first two were for the seating! Brandi, an artist herself, painted ALL the windows. She even painted flowers on them to create an amazing display! Check it out... the numbers are so cute!!

An up close picture of her numbers and names!! Great Job!
I got in the act because they were so well done and I loved her peonies bouquet!!! Thank you Flower Allie!

Details were all around. Her Bird Cage was wired to our Bird Stand and it was in easy reach for those precious card gifts!
We included in her design a window for the Arch - the ceremony site. This was my favorite window! She painted her vows and I added two precious bouquets to the overall design.

That's not all. Brandi painted another one for the entrance of the property. I added our vintage stool with crystal and flowers! "Happily Every After Starts Here!"...

Not pictured here are actually two more windows! She painted one with the menu that we displayed on a free standing easel and the other window listed her bar items. We displayed that one on a vintage wine barrel with her decorated canning beverage jars she had made! I'm hoping her photographer captured that one!

Windows! I love them! Congratulations Brandi and Josh Coker!! Brandi, you really are amazing!

Guest Book Bench?

Hi!
Have you ever wanted to do something different than just a guest book?
There's homemade Scrapbooks and Photo Booth Scrapbooks, quilt squares for a quilts,  finger print tree posters, mat boards around the engagement photographs but did you ever think of a park bench?
Susan did on May 19th.
She was lucky! Her fiance, Travis, has a Father, Steve Moore,  who is an amazing artist  - woodworker. He had made the bench for their new home and Susan thought it would be fun if the guests signed it!

Since her theme was all about birds and nature with the vintage feel tossed in,  Susan decided on a card display for the guest's seating. She solicited  his help once more in making a frame out of real branches.
He attached wire and we attached the cards Susan had made with decorated clothes pins!
This wonderful display of the seating cards and the park bench was a huge hit!

Birds were added to the branches and as the guests took their card, we replaced it with a picture of them.
Even the clothes pins were adorned with flowers!

The park bench sat just adjacent to the frame for easy access. Brown "Sharpie" pens were available for the signing! It was so comfy, some guests forgot that they needed to sign before they sat!

The guests were creative in their signing since there was so much room to write and draw!
A little varnish and this bench will be enjoyed for years to come! What a great idea!!!
Congratulations Susan and Travis Moore!!!

Do you need extra encouragement to bring your ideas to fruition?
I'm here for you!

Color, Color and more Color!

Hi!

I posted in a previous post about Kallie's color and the planning and all the fun I was having. I am pleased to announce that Nick and Kallie were wed on May 12th at the Jones Victorian Estate under a beautiful and bright sunny day!

All her special touches came to life that day.  The Estate's flowers were stunning in the background and added just what we needed to complete her special day.

An extra special Thank you to Brandi Barr Photography for capturing all the details and the fun of their day!!

Here, all the Bridesmaids are standing in support of Kallie as she spoke her vows. I love their floral dresses!

Now this is a great photograph! I love the energy and of course... the color is spectacular!

The Arch was decorated with beautiful  ribbons of different widths, colors and textures. I added flowers to the ribbons that created a  playful yet elegant Arch. It was colorful yet romantic and all those ribbons had movement!  They swayed in the soft breezes!!! It was a gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony.
Nice Kiss!!!

Ahhhh, the gazebo! The ribbon skirting for the cake table! It's color and it's just gorgeous!! Where's the cake?

Kallie's sign welcomed the guests to the ceremony site and I added the little floral touch on the right.
I found an old white frame, wired three of her colorful mini milk jugs to it, added flowers and tied it to the gate along with one of her framed flowers and... Waalaa, it's so cute!!!
I just love the special detailed decoration!

Props! I found this old colorful parasol and instantly thoughts of Kallie! It adds just the right element for the shot and for the day!

Thank you Kallie and Nick for choosing the Jones Victorian Estate! I loved working with you and I miss you dearly!!!

Sping Time at the Jones!

Hi!
It's May 1st and finally the wild mustard plants are in full bloom!
With the lack of rain, these precious plants had a slow start. Now, the fields are full and beautiful and waiting to be admired!!

Up close, these blooms are an explosion of color. They are soft and resilient! Their bright yellow petals dot the fields in magnificent beauty! They will be here for awhile and you can bet, I'm going to be

It's the Little Things That Matter!

Hi!
I always say it's the little things that matter. Right? Do you agree?
It's someone you don't know that holds the door open for you! It's having plenty of ice for your Iced Tea.   It's finding that extra change in the bottom of your purse for that parking meter. It's finding the last cookie in the cookie jar. It's taking the time to say hi even when you are running late. It's receiving a hug for just being you.

Have you ever thought of sugar cubes? Funny question to be sure. I have because it's the little things that matter.  I love adding a colorful sugar cube to my tea or coffee. It's the little expression of love that is so endearing!
Here at the Jones Victorian Estate, you and your guests will be treated with decorated sugar cubes for your coffee or tea! It is my wish to treat you like the royalty that you are!
Come and see!

Here's one of our vintage tea cups ready for the hot cup of tea! (I don't use four cubes in my cup, but they are so cute I wanted a variety to choose from!)

Here, just a few designs: Hearts, Rose Buds, Daisies, Hyacinths, Holly, Christmas Trees, Wreath, Blue Birds and Smiley Faces!

I thought it would be fun to personalize the cubes with initials of the Bride and Groom!! Hey, we can do anything!! It's all about having fun!!

It's going to be a fantastic year! Thank you for the choosing the Jones Victorian Estate for your special day! I look forward to meeting you!
Tea anyone?

Silver Candelabras .... oh yeah!

Hi!

Are you thinking about centerpieces? How about the grand tradition of silver candelabras?
They bring such elegance to any decoration.

Guess What? We have them! They are all silvery and shinning and beautiful!

Here, Flower Allie provided the huge floral arrangements that went on top and the strings of pearls the hung all around. The candelabras were further accented by beautifully framed table names in silver. Each frame included an explanation of the name. It was a beautiful way to get a glimpse into the lives of the Bride and Groom.

My favorite table was the Mother of the Bride's table; "Sunday Morning". This frame related the story of Sarah sitting at the table, one Sunday morning, talking to her mother about one day marrying Greg. Priceless! Please pass the tissues.

Thank you Jeray and Kim for the photos!
Love,
Michelle

Candy is always in fashion!

Hi!

I remember when I was young and I had some change to spend, a sweet treat made the day that much better.

It didn't matter if it was Bazooka chewing gum or a pocket full of Red Vines licorice, it was just plain fun.

Now you can bring that nostalgia flare to your gift favors with a Candy station. Now, some of you will say that the Candy Stations have been around for a long time. I couldn't agree more! However, you can create yours with your own flare! Besides, in all the years we have featured the Candy Stations, never have I heard anyone complain about candy!! It's always a big hit!

There are all sorts of resources for candy. Go for the candy you and your parents enjoy, go for candy that are in your colors, go for the candy necklaces, rings and bracelets! Go for what makes you smile! It's all yummy. Bring out the kid in you and your guests!

Here, we displayed Candice and Travis' candy in our vintage candy jars. Green and yellow were the colors of the day! We livened up the table up with a satin green linen. We added height to the centerpiece and waaalaaa! A self-serve Candy Station fit for a Queen!

Enjoy!
Thank you Edna of Squareeyephoto.com!

Orange and Light Blue - Stunning !

Hi!

I just received an email from Ketara of
KetaraGPhotography.com with a few photos highlighting the event for Matt and Laura.

I love the stunning contrast of the two colors! Laura was sure of her choice, while other family members couldn't quite picture it.

She stayed true to her choice and I helped her create her vision. We brought the colors to the seating cards, the centerpieces, the bouquets and the decorations for the arch. It was breathtaking. It was just what she wanted!! It was the "sunset over the water!"

What you can't see from these pictures are Laura's beautiful, crystal blue eyes!

Thank you Ketara for the photographs! Check out her website, she is local!
Smiles and Love,
Michelle

To Prop or not to Prop... that's the question!

Hi

"Do Props really make a difference to my day or overall design? How much is to much? How do I find props? What kind and how large of props do I need? Is anyone going to really notice if I have props or not?"

To Prop or not to Prop... that's the question. Let me help!

A prop can be something as simple as an old suitcase. You can sit on it, use it for card gifts or create a special vignette. A prop can be large such as a special couch and have pictures with your entire bridal party having more fun on it. A prop can be a special old table with seating cards displayed on it, ornate bottles for your centerpieces, home made bench for photos, glass or stained glass windows for backdrops. There are all sorts of props. It's up to you! It's what draws your attention and makes you think.

A vignette of precious items, both old and new! It's easy and adds a touch of romance.

Here, Hillary's father made this Moon photo bench for the backdrop of their Polaroid pictures and we hung the fabric with stars!

If you "have" to like it, it's not for you. If you are worried about it, it's not for you. A prop is an item that makes you smile and have fun with it! A prop is an item that shows the guests who you are.
Do you have to have a prop? Absolutely not!

Would I like you to think about it? Absolutely, yes! It can add more character and detail to your event but only if YOU want it.

Be bold! Have fun! Be you!
Love,
Michelle
