England and America Unite!

Hi!
This past weekend England and America were finally united!
After a trying time (over a year!) of working with the immigration system of the American government for Mark's citizenship, Emily and Mark were forced to postpone their September 2008 wedding date.  While they waited for Mark's paperwork, Emily was able to receive her visa from the British in just three days! Wow! So, she was off to England to work and wait.  At that time, America couldn't tell them actually when it would be completed! Their frustration was palpable.
They decided perhaps another 9 months might be enough time so they rescheduled it for June of this year.
I am very happy to say, yes, England and America were finally united in Love here at the Jones Victorian Estate. With the British and American flags flying,  it was truly a wonderful and beautiful day!
Emily's place settings were accented with Menu cards tucked inside the napkin, ribbon and a fresh baby pink rose on top.
The Centerpieces were an explosion of roses and peonies.
The Arch was accented by hydrangeas, roses and peonies as well for a lovely backdrop for the ceremony. Although I don't have pictures of the Bride and Groom, I will be getting them soon from their photographer. So, check back and see the happy couple.
Oh, one more item... After all the toasts were completed, Mark stood up and thanked everyone for coming and thanked his lovely Bride! What a wonderful gesture that had us all in tears! Cheers!
Love,
Michelle

Details that make your day... Yours!

Here are some details that everyone enjoys! Anyone can incorporate these ideas or others to their wedding at a minimal cost!!
Make a sign out of old wood or recycle a cabinet door from the good will!! Use a little paint and WAAALAAA!
A beautiful sign - add your names and date or an arrow or hand pointing in the right direction for the party. The Bride used an old floral blouse  as the fabric ribbon and accent. I hope someone's not looking for that top!

Here, two floral tins were painted white with "Mr and Mrs." added to them. They create a charming accent to the back of our chairs for the sweetheart table. We always add
candy crystals to the rims of the champagne glasses. Not only is it a tasty touch, but it also
adds fun to the glasses. Be creative! How about a mail box for your gift cards? There are treasures everywhere, take the time to look!
Enjoy!
Love
Michelle

A Lovely Thank You note!

I wanted to post this thank you note because it made me feel so good! I thought anyone reading my blog would enjoy it too! I look forward to working with you as well.

"Dear Michelle:
We hope you will forgive us for not sending this sooner. We cannot say enough about how wonderful the entire wedding experience was for our family. You were truly a Pleasure to work with. Lauren loved planning the wedding with you and you made it so easy to enjoy the entire experience. The florals were incredible! The food - we still have guests "raving" about it. Your attention to detail was appreciated more than you know. Our thanks also to your attentive staff. We will definitely recommend the Estate to our friends!! We had the most amazing time!"
Craig and Cheryl Flemming - parents of the Bride

Bringing in the colors throughout your event...

John and Connie chose pink and orange as their main accent colors. Connie didn't limit herself though, she added blues, greens and whites to enhance her look. After the wedding, blue, green, orange, yellow and red Chinese lanterns were added above the dance floor for an incredible festive feel.
For the reception, I suggested using both the pink and orange linen napkins to bring even more of her color to the tables. So, with the mix of fruit in the vases and the colorful napkins, this reception was just what they wanted.
Love,
Michelle

Remember the Little Details...

I love the little details because when added all together, they make an amazing statement!!  Here, for Connie and John's wedding, we added butterflies and crystals as a way to create more texture and detail to their  Arch.  There were twelve mini bouquets along with smaller bunches of floral decoration to create this gorgeous backdrop.   The cost was minimal but the effect was huge!
Have fun!
Love,
Michelle

Grey and Yellow that works!!

Nicole was very creative in her search for greys and yellows. Her search took her to Marshall's and there, she found wonderful lanterns of all shapes and sizes. She spray painted each of them to match. All of the lanterns were brought to the florist (Flower Allie in Fullerton) and the centerpieces were created. Each floral decoration was unique to each lantern.
Nicole carried the theme colors through to the table numbers and the napkins.
The Arch was a beautiful creation of fresh flowers and hanging crystals and ribbons. Shepherd's hooks were added with ribbon and hanging floral grey mini buckets. It all tied together with Grey, Yellow and White Chinese lanterns hanging from above.
Awesome Nicole!
Love,
Michelle

Budgets and Creativity!

Everyone is working with some sort of Budget and the frustrations are obvious! However, it doesn't have to be a bad thing at all. Budgets give us guide lines and gives each of us an opportunity to be creative... work with other ideas... open ourselves up to new possibilities... throw out the old standard!!
So, if you are willing to be creative and find the simple joy in that, I have some great ideas for you to get you started!
Jules, my April Bride, chose Grey and Plum as her colors. She found that her color scheme was dramatic and fun! Her centerpieces consisted of stacks of Grey Books that were tied together with a beautiful Ivory Satin French Wired Ribbon. Each stack was topped with a tea cup and saucer of flowers! Each tea cup was unique with either numbers or initials in dark grey set against an ivory backdrop.  In order to bring out more grey and plum on the tables, we came up with  the idea of grey napkins and topped them with a real Plum!  We added lots of votive candles to add to the romance. Besides, a book is a great gift!! The guests loved it! It was inexpensive as she found those books at Thrift Stores and Swap Meets.
Jules' cake was a confection delight. A three tiered cake with scalloped accent in platinum and fresh flowers in Plum.
The arch was draped with white Organza and two floral points were added to the sides for a graceful backdrop for the wedding. She surprised everyone when the Groomsmen brought in a Plum coach! We added a table with an old typewriter and palms to create a reading setting.  Great Job Jules and Kevin~
