Hi!Yesterday, I met with Melisssa to discuss her wedding and reception. Yes, her name has three s's!!! Dale and Melisssa are planning a green wedding focusing on trees and the environment! A woodsey theme goes hand and hand at the Jones Victorian Estate.
We were discussing her options for the cake design and the setting in the gazebo. I looked over at the mess caused by a fallen tree and presto! The cake stand can actually be a tree trunk. Here I was so upset about loosing a tree and now, it lives again in our design and it's perfect. I had our staff chain saw two huge trunk pieces, after all, it's just as easy to make one as it is two. Her save the date cards shows a tree with "Melisssa & Dale 4-Ever" carved into a tree trunk. (I just wrote in pen to see how it would look on the real tree trunk - pretty awesome!) Now, we will recreate the same carving on the cake stand tree trunk.
For the finishing touch, I looked up at the chandelier above us. We are going to add small branches of pepper tree all over the light with the crystals slightly hidden to give the gazebo a living tree look!!
I love it when an idea comes together! Way to go Melisssa and Dale for being so open to possibilities.
