CRYSTALS TO MAKE YOUR WEDDING SPARKLE AND HOLLYWOOD GLAM! AT THE JONES VICTORIAN ESTATE(714) 343-1964

Hi!
The love of crystals and everything that sparkles was the order for the day for Carissa and Lee.
For Carissa, it was all about the details! And did we have details!
It was so much fun creating vignettes that were not only beautiful and elegant but  playful as well.
The weather cooperated and Carissa and Lee had a fabulous day.

The Ivory Silk Organza Arch with the chandelier, crystal strands and large floral arrangements made this Wedding Arch just what she had envisioned.

It's all in the details and these crystals were just what Carissa wanted...
the perfect accent to the drape.

Black and White photos were hand tinted for a beautiful aisle chair decoration. We added ribbon and a broach to complete the look. (Each chair was a different photograph!)

Did she say crystals? Yes she did, so our crystal curtain was just the piece to decorate our Gazebo!

Crystal cake stand, crystal drapes, crystal vases, pretty flowers in white vessels, white frames  and an adorable paper sculpted cake top finished the look! (The cake topper is in its own glass dome!)

The gorgeous arch was a spectacular backdrop for the first dance!

The clean and crisp French door seating doors allowed the guests to find their special seat assigned by the Bride and Groom.

A special Thank you to Gina and Ryan Photography for these wonderful photos!
Congratulations Carissa and Lee!

PICKET FENCES.... ANOTHER BACKDROP AT THE JONES VICTORIAN ESTATE 714-744-1608

Hi!
What is it about a picket fence that is so charming?
The history?
The playfulness?
The lightness?
Whatever it is, I love them. Ours is extra special with a heart gate! Here at the Jones Victorian Estate, it's just one of the many backdrops that a photographers can indulge in!
Check these out!!

This photographer loved the simplicity of the green!

Erica added a wreath and a vintage tin to the gate for her wedding!

Hmmm, cute?

APRONS! Look What We Are Doing at the Jones Victorian Estate. (714) 343-1964

Vintage Aprons
In new and fun ways... not just for cooking anymore!

I thought a new spin on an old favorite would be a fun post!
Aprons! They are so pretty and have been kept in the kitchen for to long.
Here, I have used them as chair covers, decoration accents, for cake cutting and the money dance. They are so much fun and have so many more uses than just in the kitchen.
Check of few of these out...

Chair Covers for all the chairs and a quit for the overlay!

The aprons are the skirting for this table.

We added crystal, plates on crystal candlesticks and flowers to make Brandi's vintage them come alive.

I even had an apron in her colors!!! Perfect to bring the colors in...

For Erica's polka dots and stripes, this apron was a perfect choice.

For Chantelle, her colors were yellow and even Aron joined in on the fun!

Erica's apron was not just for display, she wore hers for the cake tasting!

There are always other ways to display your favorite accent.
Let's talk!!!

The Artist Erin Sanderlin-Wright!

Hi!

I'm often asked about inspiration and where it comes from. Simply, everywhere and everything. For Erin and Greg, it was easy... nature!

The best part of my job is when the Brides and Grooms are open and really take an idea and run with it. Erin Sanderlin-Wright was just that Bride. She did an absolutely fabulous job with all the painted accents and enjoyed personalizing it to her!!

Table numbers! Adorable! The old wood found a new life and they were perfect on the tables.
All the numbers together! Job Well Done!!

The Mr. and Mrs., these blanks were suspended above the Bridal table for a special wooden detail that I think was so perfect for the day. We hung them with  thick twine and added flowers and greenery for a romantic touch.

AND THE FINALE!!!

I added succulents and logs to complete the vignette.

I have to say it... I love it!
Thank you Erin and Greg for all the fun and your amazing creativity.

A Night View!

Hi!

Brandi Barr Photography sent me over this enchanting photo capturing the Jones Victorian Estate just at dusk: The old time street lights are all aglow. The chandelier above the sweetheart table eliminating their special seating below. The blue-blue of the sky in contrast to the white-white of the Victorian House and tables.
It's just lovely.
Thank you so much Brandi!
Well done!

Burlap and Lace!

Hi!

Ahh, the simplicity and ruggedness of burlap and the elegance of lace! What a great pair.
Brianna's wedding is coming up this month and she dropped off extra burlap that they had left over from the runners. Her mother made beautiful burlap/lace runners for all the tables.

And then, I got in the act...

I made Burlap bows with a touch of crystal for the pews...

Burlap and lace pillows for our swing....

Lace chair covers with burlap band and bow and topped with a crystal jewel....

I found these vases in my Bride's room attic and thought of the use of burlap. So, I made these burlap/lace bands with burlap/lace flowers....

And then I made NINE of them for the cocktail tables!!! All I need now are the candles!!

A simple accent like burlap might not be for everyone, but it's a great accent fabric that goes a long way!! The ideas for burlap are endless.

Let's talk about what you like!!!

Hand Tinted Photographs for a Real Vintage Look!

Hi!
So, if you're working on your "vintage" look, I'd like you to consider this really easy and fun project.
Hand Tinting!
Years ago, I used paint the photographs to achieve the hand tinting look I wanted.
Today, it's really easy, cleaner and a lot more fun. Let me explain...
First, download a variety of  photographs and change the "effects" to Black and White.
Print the size you need for your frame; i.e. 5 X 7 or 4 X 6 or any size (I used 4 X 6) and print them on plain ole' copy paper.
Let the Photograph Dry Completely!
Using colored pencils of your choice, start adding the color to the details of the image!
I use a slightly heavy hand with the colored pencils.  I then go back with a clean eraser and"blot" the color to blend and soften.

In this first photograph, I accented the window frame.
In the second, I added color to Allison's floral dress and lips!!!!
Remember, hand tinting is generally not for the entire photograph but rather for special touches.

A before and after shot of the photograph!

These photographs will be added to the floral centerpiece.... check out what I'm doing below!

This is amazing, if I may say so myself. What's here?
A double-decker, wooden silverware box, lace, silver candy dish, small silver accent pieces,  silver single candelabra and a fun glass bottle table number.
BUT, I opened the drawer... added flowers and a photograph of Brandi and Josh (my past Bride and Groom) that I used as a sample of this way-cool centerpiece!!!
Brandi, I kept my gift favor! :)

It's multi-dimensional and multi-colored and just plain beautiful!
And it's just the sample mock up!!
Thank you Flower Allie for the beautiful flowers!!!
Hand tinting! Who knew?
