Food Tasting the Jones Victorian Way!

Hi!

I've been so busy and it's been a blast!

Here at the Jones Victorian Estate, food tasting is celebrated!!

It's a full evening of great food,  awesome company and lively conversation.

 Below are a few colorful snippets of the evening and decoration...

Jade is actually having three different centerpieces! This was a trial for the color and texture of her main focal point. The large and small vintage canisters and tray were accented with colorful roses, peonies and wonderful tiny blooms.  

A special thank you to Flower Allie for the beautiful flowers.  

We added mini roses to the champagne glasses, both pink and white. The vintage napkins were tied with a soft pink French wire ribbon. Mini roses and fresh rosemary was tucked inside the ribbon.

The table was draped with a soft pink silk organza overlay. It was just the light touch that Jade was looking for.

 Each place setting had a different napkin treatment. In that way, the Bride could see all the varying choices and to make her decision that much easier!

Andrea and Jason!

Hi!

We wrapped up our wedding season with Andrea and Jason last Saturday. 

They were our last wedding of the season and we had a ball!!

Their wedding was a mingling of burlap bunting, lace and lots of fun!

Andrea researched and found all sorts of accents that I was able to implement into her wedding. 

Here are just a few...

Love, we all need a little bit more love!

Her gown hanging from the front door! Beautiful!

The burlap and cotton print fabric bunting on the Bride's room doors was a sensational accent

! I love that we included not just one line of bunting but three! Talk about coverage, it was a perfect mix of texture and color for Andrea!

Our vintage cosmetic suitcase double as a card box!

The Cake! With the "Granny" frosting and the adorable bunting on the cake and behind the cake!

Thank you Julie at ABC Cakes for the yummy and beautiful cake.

Andrea made both the cake bunting and the gazebo wall bunting! 

 She even made all the table numbers, which by the way, I loved. They were big, 8 X 10 frames, and everyone could see them!  They were the  perfect accessory for the tables. 

A special Thank you to Flower Allie of Fullerton for the spectacular flowers.  

And... the napkin... Navy Blue Linen tied with twine and lace in our "package" fold  design...

Wedding Stylist/Coordinator and Wedding Officiant!

Hi!

I thought I'd start this new month's posting on a personal note...

I had the distinct honor and pleasure of being the Officiant for my cousins Jinelle and Jeremy's Wedding in Rye, New York. (I now have a license from the State of New York!)  It had rained the day before and we woke up on Saturday to beautiful sunny day, crisp and gorgeous! The wedding took place on the grassy area of the Shenorock Shore Club with the spectacular backdrop of the Long Island Sound just foot steps away. 

To say I was nervous was a complete understatement. I'm used to being behind the scenes orchestrating the wedding not in front officiating.  My sister, Sue, flew out  along with my Mother for the wedding. Sue was the impromptu coordinator making me look good!

Jinelle, Jeremy and I wrote the ceremony creating a wonderful mix of humor, heart felt love, blessings and promises.

I took a page out of my favorite Pastor Mark Manning's book by saying;

"Jeremy you have kissed Jinelle before but never as your wife! You may now kiss your Bride!'

It was a truly magical experience.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my special privilege to introduce to you for the first time...

Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy and Jinelle Stent!"

That was on October 20, 2012. 

When one hears about a hurricane on the other side of the country, at times we feel removed, sad but not really effected. 

Hurricane Sandy's wrath included this lovely shore club

. 

The nation has shrunk and now it's really personal.  

My prayers and thoughts go out to all the family, friends and people of the communities affected by this terrible disaster. 

And  special prayers and  blessings to all the wonderful people that made October 20th Wedding so incredibly spectacular at the Shenorock Shore Club including  Mr. Richard LaCoursiere, the club's general manager and my cousin.

Duck, Duck, Goose?

Hi!

Meet Mrs. Duck.

 She's a mallard duck and comes back each year to lay her eggs and raise her family. 

I feel very honored that she is back!

We'll soon have about six to eight ducklings swimming in and out of the falls. 

When my twins were young, they would often "duck sit" for the mama duck.

 It was the most extraordinary site.  

The mama duck would bring her ducklings to the rock's edge to rest.  If the girls were close by, often with their feet in the water, she would actually leave. 

Once, she was gone for over an hour.

The girls were concerned when the time started ticking by. 

She did return.  

She was probably getting her nails done.

Where there is always something extraordinary going on! 

The BEST Candy Station.... Ever!

Hi!

It's a pretty BOLD statement to say... "the BEST Candy Station.... Ever!" Right?

In my opinion, on June 23rd,  we had the best Candy station ever! 

This is Ms. Linda Oaks, the Mother of the Groom, arranging all the incredibly beautiful dishes for her candy station. Normally, I'd be the one setting it up. However, Linda knew exactly what she wanted and it was important to her to do this for her son and new daughter. She arrived early and began to create this showcase variety of candies!

What made this Candy Station the BEST ever? It was the amazing mix of crystal dishes, glass bowls, glasses and stands. It was the variety of candy and the wow of color! It was the very special way Linda used each piece to accent each specific candy style. 

I added the glass doors (thank you Marysia and Matt Boeckman) and listed all the candy choices on the glass.  To really personalize these doors, I included places where Sara and Ryan were to travel on their honeymoon.... Italy!!!

Everyone enjoyed in on sampling this very special presentation. 

Thank you Linda for an incredible job!!

 Guess What? She now has her own company specializing in Candy and display!! That's right!

Ahhh, the Candy Station! Sweet!

My Best Pick!

I wanted to post this photograph from Ashley and Brian Boothe's Wedding on June 30th!

It's my all time favorite and I am officially naming it "My Best Pic!"

Why is this photograph so special, you might be asking?

It's simple. After 25 years of weddings, Michelle is the first photographer to capture all of the window!!

Yes, that is right. The window... actually the window treatment too.  It's these small details that are not only fun but essential! 

The ruffles not only frame the shot but it brings the wonderful "vintage style" to life!

Bunting, Bunting, Bunting!!!

Hi!

Bunting! 

It's a blast! It's an accessory that is fun and colorful! It has movement and beauty and it brings out the child in all of us. 

What is bunting? 

Well, according to Wikipedia it's also called Tammy! Who knew right? It's from the late 17th century and used for celebration! I bet you can picture bunting on the ships arriving home! Or, through the 4th of July celebrations! Or, big sale days! Right?

They are flags, ribbons or colorful festive decorations!

Colorful bunting is what we had at Marysia and Matt Boeckman's Wedding on June 16th!

Congratulations Marysia and Matt!!!!

It was a remarkable show of beautiful bunting!  Marysia so enjoyed finding an assortment of fabrics in her colors. She then  delegated the job of making the bunting to Matt's mother and her mother and I even jumped in on all the fun! 

Mrs. Boeckman sewed all the  flags for the gazebo and I loved the textured edges and all the colors!

Matt and Marysia loved tennis along with board games. We tied the rackets on the tree with bunting. 

The bar had to join the fun so I sewed a Bar Bunting for the wine barrel!

The doors of the Bride's room where part of the fun too! The bunting first and then photographs next...

What's this? It's the bunting backdrop we hung for the photo booth! Brilliant!

Here's the gazebo as we figured out how long we needed the bunting to be to wrap all around!

Since Matt and Marysia were getting married at the Church, the flowers were added later but the Bunting was ready to go.

This is a quick picture I took of their Save The Date Cards! Marysia made them all and the bunting on the card set the stage for our accent and enthusiasm!!
