Wedding Trends for 2021! The Jones Victorian Estate (714) 343-1964

 Hi!

Here comes the wedding trends for 2021! I sourced them from Harper's Bazaar, Pinterest, Greenweddingshoes, Wedgewoodweddings, Onefabday, Weddingwire, theKnot, countless blogs and even from the UK, all for a quick look at all the excitement!

1. RELAXED VIBES/BREAKING THE RULES: The couples are choosing to host less structured events with the emphasis on fun and designs that don't fit the classic mold. The celebrations  have more lavish decor, color, great food, entertainment and amazing photography. The focus is on mingling and conversation with quality over quantity.

2. HANGING ACCENTS: The florist are creating clever hanging florals from chandeliers, from wire, from lamps, whatever is up high. Sites are creating more overhead lighting with chandeliers, Chinese lanterns or large flowers, tiny lights, and bulb lighting. The results are stunning. Even at the Jones, we are adding more lights to our already stunning backdrops to create more magical appeal. 

3. SUSTAINABILITY: The emphasis is on putting sustainability as a top priority. I think we have all had enough waste of the throw away utensils, plates, cups and etc from 2020. It is spilling into the Wedding Industry and I am thrilled. They want to reduce their carbon footprints! The awareness of all the dumping  in the land fills is giving people new incentives not to waste. It is now all about purchasing locally (Etsy or a garden supply for flowering plants), finding a venue with natural and beautiful backdrops (YAY  JONES VICTORIAN ESTATE), Meals that are based on raw ingredients from Farmer's Markets and even implementing VEGAN options,  finding local spirits (breweries in your neighborhood) for the bar supplies, local entertainment and prioritizing how ethical and sustainable their wedding dress designer practices are. It is about finding out about what they are buying and who they are supporting.

4. OVERSIZED EVERYTHING (OVER THE TOP!): Is it a wonder? Since 2020's designs were rationed, it is the oversized fun with a HOLLYWOOD GLAMOUR and BOHO (Bohemian) VIBE touches that are the rage. Large flowing bouquets,  long flowing veils, two gowns or dresses instead of one, Grooms with a change too, bouncing or groupings of balloons, sparkling hair accents, chandelier earrings, pearls, rhinestones and glitter galore,  and lots of accented colors of Ochre, Mustard, Buttery with lush greens, and the dusty hues are integrated into the theme.  I love the mismatching of China and these refresgubg color palettes.

5. HEIRLOOM INVESTMENTS: Connecting back to our past whether it is a grandmother's old China or her jewelry or even a gown, this is front and center. It is those relationships that were so devastated during this pandemic and the need to embrace them now is a priority. The treasured items that mean so much are being repurposed for and in the wedding decorations creating new memories with the accent of the past. Couples are bringing items such as candles, mirrors, and even furniture. It's about creating a personal atmosphere with history.  Here at the Jones Estate, we create just that. 6.  DIY: This is a year, DIY projects are not only being embraced but cultivated. With the enormous amount of tutorials on line, family and friends coming together to create one of a kind decorations. With the watchful eye of the Bride and Groom, these items are reflecting their style while bringing out the fun! 

 

7. OUTDOOR EVENTS: What can I say? The Jones Victorian Estate has hosted outdoor events for over 140 years. It does not get any better than that! The events might have fewer guests but the emphasis on close family and friends brings more meaning and love to the event and it has never been more necessary than right now.

"Over The Top" Designs for 2021 at the Jones Victorian Estate (714) 343-1964- Make it your own!

Hi!

As we head full steam into the new wedding season, "Over The Top" is one of the key designs for this year. Is it any wonder since for a year we were at home watching the months roll by.

What is "Over The Top"? My interpretation is anything that is taken to the extreme! Let's break it down...

It is Overhead decorations with lights, crystals, chandeliers, flowers, flags, bunting and even draping fabrics. 

 It is bigger and taller wedding Cakes. 

It is a dramatic entrance with doors, windows, mirrors, flowers, arches, trees and lights. 

It is recessional celebrations with rose petals shot from a cannon, bubble dancing from bubble machines, explosion of bio-degradable snow flurries. 

It is incredible backdrops for photos with larger than life size theme books, large paper flower backdrops, large trees with hanging lights, huge frame with wrapped flowers. 

 

It is huge accents on the Bride and Grooms' seating with pretty couches,  overstuffed chairs, elaborate benches. 

It is large table centerpieces with candelabras wrapped in roses, tall trees with flowers and lights, towering floral ball arrangements.

The "Over the Top" designs might seem a bit overwhelming. However, adapting that crazy style to yours is where all the fun begins. The photos above are a bit off the original idea but oh, so beautiful.

The Jones Victorian Estate, How many guests can we accommodate? (714) 343-1964

Hi!

I have received many phone calls and emails about how many guests we can accommodate. I thought I'd post these pictures to give the reader a general idea, especially if one has never been here before.

A special thank you to Joel at EMP Studios and MicahandMeganPhotographers for the photographs!!

Here, the ceremony site with the waterfalls flowing. We even have another site in the garden area as well. We can seat up to 200.

In the front courtyard, we can seat 200 there too! If it's hot, we have table umbrellas. If it's

cold, we have heaters. We try to think of everything!

 

Here, Courtney and Michael had a black/green theme.

Fishing at the Jones Victorian Estate! What is your dream? (714) 343-1964

Hi!

Andy and Megan were married this weekend with a new and fun twist! Megan surprised Andy by adding  a fishing theme to her wedding planning. The special touches were noticed by all and especially by Andy! He loved it! 

Check them out below.

 The Bride's grandfather brought a fishing pole that we sat on a rock next to the lagoon. It was the perfect prop for the day!  It was her grandfather that made all the fish out of wood. Megan, her mother and Maid of Honor painted them and we anquored them down with one pound weights on fishing line. The fish looked like they were swimming in the current of the falls! 

Look at all the fish!  Green fish, blue fish, yellow fish, grey fish!!  There were eighteen fish in all including bottom dwellers and sharks that swam that day!!

Megan and her Mother, Julie, found this great  fish vase for the candy station! They included the candy fish and with the rest of the treats!! What a great find!

For more fun, Megan found a fishing Bride catching a Groom for her cake topper! 

Their special touches reflected their love of the outdoors. And, where else to express that than the Jones Victorian Estate! 

Megan was mindful at keeping the elegance of her wedding while including their personality and it worked perfectly.

 I can hardly wait for the pictures from the photographer!

The Fun With Bridesmaids!!

What can I say? These Bridesmaids are a hoot!

Thank you for supporting your Bride and being there for her!!!

Here are a few of my favorites!!

               Sarah and her ladies choice the hibiscus out in the front courtyard for their backdrop joking!

Shelby and her Bridesmaids with all the trees for the backdrop. Love it!

Hillary choice the rustic backdrop! Precious!

Kallie showed her fun incorporating the park bench! Waa Hoo!

Ashley's  close up is gorgeous!

 Tammy used the old fence as her backdrop to make them pop! Lovely!

Brandi and her ladies got close together with the old drive as their backdrop. She had eight and they fit!! So pretty!

Susan enjoyed time with her ladies in our grassy area and the sun was just right. I love the tenderness of this photo!

Brianna and her Bridesmaids showed their humor with the old drive as their backdrop. So Much FUN!

Stacy and her ladies stopped for a quick photo! Beautiful!

Shanntel and her ladies were smiles all around! Fresh and Lovely!

Kathleen's photos were a blast! She took a group shot (below) but I loved the individual photos of each Bridesmaid.  Each one was playful and showed off their personality!
