Mirror, Mirror On The Wall... Or Gate!

Hi!
So, have you thought about mirrors as accents but  reconsidered?
They can be so boring and hey, they are just mirrors. Done that, Right!
Wrong.
Well, Ashley and I brought them to life in new ways at her wedding.

I have all sorts of shapes and sizes but the oval was just what we were looking for.

We used the oval mirrors as the base for the centerpiece and added beautiful mercury glass vases and filled them with flowers to the brim! Thank you Flower Allie! They reflected the beauty above but were so understated it worked!!

We went a bit farther.... We wanted some sort of welcome as the guests made their way to the back courtyard. So, with the mercury glass fresh in my mind, I thought it would be magical to have a mirror as the welcome accent. The ladies could check their hair without being noticed and the message would be warm and wonderful....
We added Ashley's lovely mini suitcase with fans for the ladies on a lace topped table. A few more crystal vases with flowers and waalaa... a special welcome to their ceremony!

Ashley's grandmother delighted us all with your beautiful penmanship and helped us create a stunning presentation!! Michelle Kunz of Luminaire Images captured the writing beautifully.

Do you have ideas that your just not sure of?
Be brave and experiment. If it doesn't work in one situation, it will in another!
Enjoy!

Ashley and Brian Boothe!!

Hi!
Ashley and Brian Boothe were married at the Jones Victorian Estate on the 30th of June and it was a spectacular day filled with family, friends and lots of love!
On this blog, I mixed the photographs from Luminaire Images and some of my own to show you just some of the fun we had that day!

Here's beautiful Ashley and her lovely Mother, Leslie! They were a blast to work with!

A supportive Bridal party smooths the waters of planning!  They chose well!

Simply Beautiful!

The bouquet really popped with those magenta peonies. Thank you Flower Allie!! All of the flowers were G O R G E O U S!

This is such a lovely shot! You can almost hear what he's whispering!  Her smile tells it all!

And here's the bridal party!!!

The road shot is always so impressive no matter what time of year!! With a beautiful couple like Ashley and Brian, the drive is alive with love.

Brian! The man of the day!!

Ashley's father gave a precious toast that only fathers can give... Great Job Dad!

Ashley and Brian's centerpieces were a gorgeous mix of mercury glass and mirrors....

Silver and Crystal.... and beautiful silver candelabras.

Their guest book table was probably one of my top favorites! Ashley framed about 30 photos of the two of them growing up. They included other family members in those photos that made this display heartwarming and perfect. If you look really closely, on either side of the silverware box that is displaying the Bride and Groom's engagement photo, there are two very special pictures.... proud young Brian with a fish and proud young Ashley with a bigger fish! They were about the same age. Seriously, how precious is that?

This is a beautiful picture of the ceremony through the eyes of the upstairs window.

The Arch was fresh and full and just the perfect backdrop for the ceremony.

Who has such lovely handwriting?

Ashley and Brian had personalized frames for the guests that doubled as their seating assignments. What made this arrangement so special? Ashley's Grandmother penned all the names!
Her artistic handwriting was just the romantic and elegant touch needed to make everyone feel extra special!

Grandma added her decorative touch to the "Welcome" mirror and made this display absolutely gorgeous!

Congratulations Ashley and Brian Boothe!
It was a wonderful day to be a part of !
Thank you both so much!!

Bunting Beauty!

Hi!
Marysia and Matt knocked the ball out of the park with their playful bunting and all the special details that made their wedding so unique and personal.
I enjoyed every step of the way!
I'm waiting on the photographer's pictures but these will just have to do for now!

Here's what the guest saw as the entered the property from the valet. The mini personalized quilt along with the swags of bunting created the mood for the festivities and the celebration. I loved watching the guests expressions as they arrived.

The Bride's room doors were draped with colorful bunting.  Marysia added a family touch to the design. Her family photos made it extra special.  The mini chalk boards were attached by ribbon and identified each family member for all to admire.

In the center, Matt and Marysia's engagement picture was hung with a beautiful vintage frame. The mini chalk board proudly displaying... Mr. and Mrs. Boeckman!

The centerpieces were so much fun! The table numbers were pictures Matt and Marysia took on their travels in Orange and around the city! It was  really interesting to see where the numbers had come from. Marysia had listed the location of the back of the frames!!  Brilliant!  She really thought through all the details!
We started each centerpiece with a different frame and fabric. The crystal cake stands were next. The florist, Flower Allie, added the milk glass arrangements, bowl arrangements and the vintage blue canning jar arrangements. The flowers were full,  gorgeous, colorful and so refreshing!

Table Number 4: 4 AM!

Marysia's parents were remodeling part of their house so she asked them to save the doors that they were replacing. With the help of her sister, (who flew in from teaching in South Africa) the doors were painted with the guest's seating. The tennis rackets and bunting were added that represented the joy the couple has of playing games together!

The guest book table was not complete at the time of this picture. We were waiting for the "tree" that the guests were going to thumb. Hehe. The thumb prints acted as the tree's leaves and that was their special guest book ... so to speak. But the table had bunting!!

Here's the entrance to the back courtyard... the bunting  showing the  way!

The rich colors were a blast. The colorful Chinese lanterns above, the bunting on the Arch and the colorful fabric overlays just popped with radiance! When the guests arrived, the tables were alive with milk glass  floral arrangements.

The coffee station was decorated with bunting too! Hey, everything is better with bunting!

My favorite! The bunting for the Bride and Groom's chairs.
The Bar wanted to get in on the act also, so the wine barrel got bunted!!

I can hardly wait for the wedding pictures.
Thank you Marysia and Matt for choosing the Jones Victorian Estate for your Wedding Reception.
 I absolutely loved it!
Congratulations.

A Really, Really Good Find!!!

Hi!
I wanted to have a post just highlighting a particular piece of art that I think is incredibly warm and wonderful!
Truly, it is a work of art.
At Marysia and Matt's wedding, Marysia's Mother, Leslie,  ordered this beautiful, personalized mini-quilt as a special gift for the Bride and Groom! Their entire wedding was made from the heart with Leslie making all the Bridesmaid's dresses, her own gown (and it was beautiful blue lace!!), helping with the bunting and the centerpieces. So, a gift like this was over the top spectacular for me!!
The mini-quilt was displayed on our Vienna Gates with bunting as the guests entered the property from their Church wedding.

For those of us that sew or that used to sew, or if you are learning how to sew or just enjoy the idea of sewing, this is really something beautiful!
The artist, Jamie Fingal, made this spectacular piece!! She added the fabric that Leslie had used on the bunting. It not only made the piece extra special but the details are extraordinary.

Are you looking for a really, really special gift?

What a wonderful keepsake that is just plain old FUN!!
This is my "Really, Really Good Find!"

My Best Pick!

Hi!
I wanted to post this photograph from Ashley and Brian Boothe's Wedding on June 30th!
It's my all time favorite and I am officially naming it "My Best Pic!"
The photograph was taken by Michelle Kunz of Luminaire Images.

Why is this photograph so special, you might be asking?
It's simple. After 25 years of weddings, Michelle is the first photographer to capture all of the window!!
Yes, that is right. The window... actually the window treatment too.  It's these small details that are not only fun but essential!
The ruffles not only frame the shot but it brings the wonderful "vintage style" to life!
Thank you Michelle for capturing this image!
I love it!
Thank you Ashley and Brian Boothe for allowing all of us to share in your special day! Congratulations!
Come back and visit, soon!!!

Love,

Bunting, Bunting, Bunting!!!

Hi!

Bunting!
It's a blast! It's an accessory that is fun and colorful! It has movement and beauty and it brings out the child in all of us.
What is bunting?
Well, according to Wikipedia it's also called Tammy! Who knew right? It's from the late 17th century and used for celebration! I bet you can picture bunting on the ships arriving home! Or, through the 4th of July celebrations! Or, big sale days! Right?
They are flags, ribbons or colorful festive decorations!
Colorful bunting is what we had at Marysia and Matt Boeckman's Wedding on June 16th!
Congratulations Marysia and Matt!!!!
It was a remarkable show of beautiful bunting!  Marysia so enjoyed finding an assortment of fabrics in her colors. She then  delegated the job of making the bunting to Matt's mother and her mother and I even jumped in on all the fun!

Mrs. Boeckman sewed all the  flags for the gazebo and I loved the textured edges and all the colors!

Matt and Marysia loved tennis along with board games. We tied the rackets on the tree with bunting.

The bar had to join the fun so I sewed a Bar Bunting for the wine barrel!

The doors of the Bride's room where part of the fun too! The bunting first and then photographs next...

What's this? It's the bunting backdrop we hung for the photo booth! Brilliant!

Here's the gazebo as we figured out how long we needed the bunting to be to wrap all around!

Since Matt and Marysia were getting married at the Church, the flowers were added later but the Bunting was ready to go.

This is a quick picture I took of their Save The Date Cards! Marysia made them all and the bunting on the card set the stage for our accent and enthusiasm!!

The next post.... The finished product!
Just Wait!!!

Be Bold!!
